The UCRC will provide\ncore research capacities in areas like research regulations, data management\nand diagnostics as well as helping investigators to initiate and implement\nresearch protocols. The center is located at the Point G Hospital, Bamako,\nMali.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The UCRC provides a variety of services including\nclinical trial operations; administrative management; scientific protocol\ndesign; clinical, molecular and immunology laboratory services and a repository\nwith staff trained in multiple laboratory techniques, including samples\nprocessing; pharmacy; data collection and management; and regulatory affairs\nsupport and others.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The UCRC will enable researchers to utilize knowledge,\nexpertise and resources to test and develop novel diagnostic, preventive and\ntherapeutic inventions according to international standards that will enhance\nthe quality of healthcare. The center will also provide opportunities to young\ninvestigators for training in research. The UCRC encourages collaborations on\nlocal, national and international level to increase the scientific capacity of\nthe project and enhance the sustainability of the research infrastructure. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>OUR MISSION <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The University Clinical Research Center ( UCRC) is a\ncollaborative&nbsp; partnership formed in 2013\nbetween the Ministry of Health and Public Hygiene and the Ministry of Higher\nEducation and Scientific Research of Mali, the University of Sciences,\nTechniques and Technologies of Bamako\/Mali (USTTB), and the National Institute\nof Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) of the National Institutes of Health\n(NIH) Bethesda, Maryland.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em><strong>This collaborative partnership aims to:&nbsp; <\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Facilitate the development of a coordinated clinical research program in Mali;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p> \u2022 Enhance the existing clinical research programs and facilitate their growth and sustainability;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;\u2022 Stimulate\nclinical research in West Africa that is guided by international standards and\nprinciples; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u2022 Develop and excellent research environment that will\nfoster collaborations and attract researchers worldwide. The UCRC encourages\ncollaborations on a local, national and international level to increase the\nscientific capacity of the project and enhance the sustainability of the\nresearch infrastructure.
