Hankins, and the  Minister of National Education, Scientific Research and Higher Education, Professor Mahamadou Famanta had a guided tour to the University Clinical Research Center (UCRC) .<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\">The UCRC is part of the International Center for Excellence in Research (ICER Mali), a collaboration between NIH and the University of Sciences, Techniques and Technologies of Bamako (USTTB). The UCRC provides basic research capabilities in areas such as research regulation, data management and diagnostics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\">It also helps researchers to initiate and implement research protocols. With a staff of more than 600 agents, ICER Mali is a joint initiative which is part of a biomedical research partnership between Mali and the United States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p style=\"text-align:justify\">ICER Mali plays a big role in the fight against tropical diseases and infectious diseases like COVID-19. A total of 90% of the samples of COVID-19 cases are analyzed at this center. Results are available between four and six hours after the test.
