He obtained his\nPharmD degree from the National School of Medicine and Pharmacy, his Master\nDegree from WHO-IRTC, Lausanne, Switzerland and a DPhil from Oxford University,\nUK. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Currently,\nProf. Diakite is the head of the Department of Immunology and Genomics at the\nMRTC, Faculty of Medicine, Pharmacy, and Odontostomatology, USTTB. He has been working on research on infectious\ndiseases since 1991. His research group (30 research\nstaff and students) is based at\nthe UCRC and MRTC and focus on various aspects of infectious diseases such as\nmalaria and emerging infectious diseases. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Currently, his group is working on the innate and\nacquire resistance to malaria in Mali using longitudinal and epidemiologic analyses of children and adults\nimmune response to malaria in Malian villages with different transmission\npatterns. He\nhas an important interest in <em>P. falciparum<\/em> genetic diversity, genetic susceptibility to infectious\ndiseases, and Pharmacogenomics. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Prof. Diakite is the Deputy Director of the University\nClinical Research Center (<strong>UCRC<\/strong>), which provides a variety of services including clinical\ntrial operations; administrative management; scientific protocol design;\nclinical, molecular, and immunology laboratory services and a repository with\nstaff trained in multiple laboratory techniques to include processing trial\nsamples; pharmacy; data collection and management; and regulatory affairs support,\netc.&nbsp; <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>MRTC<\/strong>, a global center of excellence in public health and tropical\nmedicine, has several field research sites as well as vaccine trials sites\nacross Mali.
