It was a highly enriching experience that will open up magnificent prospects for me upon my return home<\/em>,&#8221; he shares with emotion. <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=wZSEzfhD2Ys\">PODCAST<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"2560\" height=\"1707\" src=\"https:\/\/ucrc-mali.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/DSC07630-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5265\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ucrc-mali.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/DSC07630-scaled.jpg 2560w, https:\/\/ucrc-mali.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/DSC07630-1536x1024.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/ucrc-mali.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/DSC07630-2048x1365.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 2560px) 100vw, 2560px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Dr. Doumb\u00e9 began his studies at the Faculty of Medicine and Odontostomatology (FMOS) in Bamako for a seven-year medical training program. He then joined the UCRC as an intern. During this period, he distinguished himself through his rigor and dedication. From October 2023 to April 2026, he got invested into a major clinical study on measles, aiming to clear up the mystery of immune amnesia or &#8220;loss of memory of the protective system&#8221; in children. This study aimed to understand if the measles virus is capable of erasing the protective system that the body spent years building against other diseases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>An emotional farewell ceremony<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Between cutting-edge science and human relationships, the time to depart has come for Dr. Doumb\u00e9. His collaborators organized a sober ceremony in his honor. On Monday, July 6th, 2026, they presented him with a symbolic gift to salute his humanism and his flawless commitment to the success of the project. &#8220;<em>We present you with this gift as a token of your exceptional commitment and your human qualities,<\/em>&#8221; declared a deeply moved Aminata Traor\u00e9 from the Data management team.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"2560\" height=\"1707\" src=\"https:\/\/ucrc-mali.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/DSC07629-scaled.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-5268\" srcset=\"https:\/\/ucrc-mali.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/DSC07629-scaled.jpg 2560w, https:\/\/ucrc-mali.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/DSC07629-1536x1024.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/ucrc-mali.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/07\/DSC07629-2048x1365.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 2560px) 100vw, 2560px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><br>Upon receiving this gift, Dr. Doumb\u00e9 thanked the entire UCRC staff.
