The mission of the UCRC ImmunoCore Laboratory is to provide high quality immunological assays, expert consultation, and training to investigators interested in conducting clinical and translational research in Mali, West Africa. The facility offers a wide variety of flow cytometry and serology instruments, which are maintained by a robust internal and external proficiency testing system to provide the highest levels of performance to our users.
The laboratory adheres to international good laboratory practices and regulatory standards of quality control and biosafety procedures. Our cytometry service ranges from basic four colors analysis to more complex acquisition, involving up to 16 colors. In addition to flow cytometry-based service, the ImmunoCore Laboratory has the capacity to:
o Build clinical repository by isolating, collecting, and cryopreserving PBMCs, serum, buffy coat, and plasma
o Perform routine immunological assays such as ELISA, Western Blot and ELISPOT
o Perform biomarker profiling by Luminex (MAGPIX)
o Perform serology assays to detect antibody responses against infectious diseases (Ebola, Zika, Measles, Yellow Fever, Salmonella, HIV, and SARS-CoV-2)
o Perform diagnosis of latent tuberculosis infection using QuantiFERON TB Gold assay
o Provide short-term training in flow cytometry
o Provide guidance in analyzing and presenting cytometry based-results for publication
o Assist in writing immunological aspects of research grants and manuscripts.
