Inter-Research Collaboration: A University of Sciences, Techniques and Technologies of Bamako Delegation Visits the UCRC Laboratories

A delegation from the University of Science, Technology, and Engineering of Bamako (USTTB) visited the laboratories of the University Clinical Research Center (UCRC) on August 12th, 2025.
Composed of senior officials and faculty members from the Faculties of Science and Technology (FST), Medicine and Odontostomatology (FMOS), Pharmacy (FAPH), and the Institute of Applied Sciences (ISA), this mission was led by Vice-Rector Professor Mamadou WELE.

It was part of a laboratory visit program held between August 12th and 15th, 2025, aimed at strengthening inter-research collaboration with a view to building links between research units for closer and more effective collaboration.

The visit provided an opportunity to explore the facilities of the UCRC laboratories, all of which are world-class. These laboratories include: the BSL3 laboratory for mycobacteriology and hemorrhagic fevers (one of the few in the sub-region), the molecular biology and genomics laboratory; the immunology laboratory (Immunocore Lab), and the clinical biology laboratory.
The UCRC has a clinical trial center and also offers various clinical services, including clinical trial operations, scientific protocol production, sample processing, data collection and management, and much more.

By bringing together experts from different fields, the USTTB expects to facilitate resource sharing, the emergence of interdisciplinary projects, and the advancement of scientific research in Mali.
