On September 15th and 16th, 2026, researchers from the University Clinical Research Center and Infectious Disease for Medical Entomology for Training and Research Center in Mali met with the Strategic Advisory Group at the Hyatt Hotel Casablanca. The meeting provided an opportunity to review the progress made over the past two years of the project. PICTURES
The Mali team collaborates with researchers from Tulane University, the University of South Florida, the National Institutes of Health (NIH) NIAID, Deakin University in Austria, and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.
This year meeting brings also together with Burkina Faso ICEMR to strengthen the collaboration within the Sahel States for malaria control and prevention. By integrating Burkina Faso into the strategic sessions, the assembly aimed to create a unified front across the Sahel States.
This reinforced alliance will allow neighboring nations to synchronize their control and prevention protocols, share real-time vector surveillance data, and collectively combat the growing threats of outdoor malaria transmission and insecticide resistance threatening West Africa.
